ControlPlex® Rack
The ControlPlex® Rack reliably distributes power for required technology, such as fibre optic routers. In the event of a short circuit or overcurrent, the ESX300-S electronic circuit protectors only disconnect the affected circuit. The system fulfils one of the central requirements for communication technology systems: constant availability.
With the improved RCI11 remote control interface module, E-T-A combines intelligent control and monitoring technology into the system, providing a modern, complete solution. The RCI11 is the central intelligence of the ControlPlex® Rack system. The electronic circuit protectors are connected via bus system. Thanks to the integral Ethernet interface, the RCI11 not only allows internal communication, but also the connection to the superordinate control unit or room.
The module collects individual measuring data from each output channel, such as current, voltage and temperature. The system can also request the status of the electronic circuit protectors and error messages, cache them temporarily and forward them to the management system. Thanks to its transparency, administrators can easily monitor the system and actively switch the output channels on or off from anywhere. The remote access to the power distribution system holds enormous potential. In the past, if an error occurred, it was necessary to send a service technician to the site for an initial analysis. Smart systems such as the ControlPlex® Rack considerably simplify these processes. The error can be analysed in the control room and, in the best case, resolved immediately with a power reset. Thanks to the remote access, there is no need to send a service technician to the site, which significantly reduces service costs. The continuous recording of status information and measuring values helps detect deviations at an early stage, enabling the responsible service staff to create a predictive maintenance plan. Therefore, the RCI11 module is the next step towards a digitised control cabinet.
