The new control cabinet SBG-T006 allows a compact and well-structured power distribution for a flexible number of loads. Redundant power supply and selective protection of the individual loads make type SBG-T006 from E-T-A Elektrotechnische Apparate GmbH meet highest safety standards.
The customer-specific design has been developed by E-T-A for use in the chemical industry group LANXESS in Leverkusen (Germany). LANXESS will use the product in their DC 24 V voltage supply for the process control. A clear arrangement, reliability, redundancy and flexibility and space-saving benefits were the major requirements with regard to this power distribution and protection solution.
The control cabinet accommodates up to nine Power-D-Box modules in three different functions and designs. Centre piece is normally the Power-D-Box type 19BGT-S244. It serves as line entry module. Supply via two separate current sources is de-coupled by means of diodes. These forward max. 50 A to up to three power distribution and protection modules Power-D-Box type 19BGT-S245 or -S246. Up to 16 individual circuits can be connected to type 19BGT-S245, up to 30 circuit to type 19BGT-S246. Each of these individual loads is selectively protected by circuit breaker type ESS20 or circuit protector type ESX10. Alternatively protection by means of thermal-magnetic circuit breaker type 2210-S… is possible. Its flexibility allow use of the system at LANXESS in the most different plant configurations. Eliminations of variants minimises costs.
All Power-D-Box modules have amply designed cable conduits, allowing a very artless and clear cable management.
The individual Power-D-Box modules are also available independent of the control cabinet SBG-T006. Rotating mounting flanges will allow front-side 19” mounting or rear-side assembly on the mounting plate in the control cabinet. Two installations depths are available for front mounting – depending on the requirements of the cabinet.
